How do I record a blood pressure reading? +

To record a new reading:

  1. Open BPress and tap the "+" button on the home screen
  2. Enter your systolic (top number) and diastolic (bottom number) readings
  3. Optionally add your heart rate, notes, and tags
  4. Tap "Save" to store the reading

Your reading will automatically appear in your history and be included in your charts.

How do I enable HealthKit integration? +

To integrate with Apple Health:

  1. Go to Settings within BPress
  2. Tap "Health Integration"
  3. Toggle on "Sync with Apple Health"
  4. Grant the requested permissions in the popup

You can also manage these permissions in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > BPress.

How do I export my data? +

Premium users can export their data in multiple formats:

  1. Go to Settings > Export Data
  2. Choose your preferred format (PDF or CSV)
  3. Select the date range you want to export
  4. Tap "Export" and choose where to share or save the file

PDF exports include formatted charts perfect for sharing with your doctor. CSV files can be opened in spreadsheet applications.

How do I set up reminders? +

To never miss a reading:

  1. Go to Settings > Reminders
  2. Toggle on "Enable Reminders"
  3. Set your preferred times (morning, afternoon, evening)
  4. Choose which days to receive reminders

Make sure you've granted notification permissions to BPress in iOS Settings.

What do the different blood pressure categories mean? +

BPress categorizes readings based on American Heart Association guidelines:

  • Normal: Less than 120/80 mmHg
  • Elevated: 120-129 systolic and less than 80 diastolic
  • High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) Stage 1: 130-139 systolic or 80-89 diastolic
  • High Blood Pressure Stage 2: 140/90 mmHg or higher
  • Hypertensive Crisis: Higher than 180/120 mmHg (seek emergency care)

Note: These are general guidelines. Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice.

How do I delete a reading? +

To remove an incorrect or unwanted reading:

  1. Go to the History tab
  2. Find the reading you want to delete
  3. Swipe left on the reading
  4. Tap the red "Delete" button

Alternatively, tap on the reading to open details, then tap the trash icon.

What's included in the premium subscription? +

Premium subscription includes:

  • Unlimited readings storage (free version limited to 100 readings)
  • Advanced charts and trends analysis
  • PDF and CSV export functionality

To cancel your BPress Premium subscription:

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. You'll continue to have access to premium features until then.

Is my data private and secure? +

Yes! Your privacy is our top priority:

  • All your health data is stored locally on your device
  • We do not have access to your blood pressure readings
  • No data is sent to our servers or third parties
  • Optional iCloud sync is encrypted by Apple
  • We never sell or share your personal information

Can I use BPress on multiple devices? +

Yes! BPress works on iPhone and iPad. To sync your data across devices:

  1. Upgrade to Premium (includes iCloud sync)
  2. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID on all devices
  3. Enable iCloud sync in Settings on each device

Your data will automatically sync across all your devices.

What should I do if the app crashes or isn't working? +

Try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Make sure you're using the latest version of BPress
  2. Force close the app and reopen it
  3. Restart your device
  4. Check if iOS needs an update
  5. Try deleting and reinstalling the app (your data is safe if you're using iCloud backup)

How accurate should my blood pressure measurements be? +

For the most accurate readings:

  • Use a validated blood pressure monitor (check with your doctor)
  • Sit quietly for 5 minutes before measuring
  • Keep your arm at heart level
  • Don't talk during the measurement
  • Take readings at the same time each day
  • Avoid caffeine, exercise, and smoking 30 minutes before

Remember: BPress is for tracking only. Consult your healthcare provider about your readings.
